"Online art therapy shows that a safe creative space isn't defined by a room, but by the relationship and process"

Online art therapy

What to expect

I will request your location (if not at home) for emergencies only.

• Video calls are on a Google Meet, which is password protected and encrypted.

• Please have Google Meet set up on your device before our session; test your mic and audio in advance.

• I'll email you a Google Meet invitation with the meeting link.

• Make sure your internet or data connection is reliable for call quality.

• If we lose connection, have your phone ready as a backup so I can call to continue.

• Do not record sessions; I will maintain regular session records.

• Please make sure, where possible, you have art materials and paper available. If any art is made, we can share it over the screen. All art making should be kept safe. As with face-to-face sessions, please refrain from asking about the art making unless the client shares freely. Art can also be shared securely on an agreed WhatsApp.

• Once therapy has ended, it may be helpful for the client to leave the room and have time to process the session. This might take the form of a relaxing activity of their choice.
