Therapeutic group art-making activities are important because they support our emotional, mental and social wellbeing. They provide a safe and supportive space for people to express their feelings creatively, reduce stress, build confidence and improve self-esteem. Taking part in art activities together can reduce loneliness, encourage communication, develop friendships and create a sense of belonging. They also help people develop coping skills, explore their emotions and feel a sense of achievement. Most importantly, the focus is on the process of creating rather than artistic ability, allowing everyone to participate, express themselves and feel accepted without judgement.
